MIDDLETON LODGE ESTATE

ELENI & CLAIRE

A three day UK Destination Wedding at an enchanting Georgian Manor House, with a sublime secret garden ceremony, elegant dining in the Fig House & dancing till the early hours in a secret afterparty

"My wife and I were planning an international wedding given we currently live in California but my family is in the UK. We searched for a wedding planner for several weeks before finally finding Amy and she really is a diamond in the rough! From the very beginning, every step of our wedding was planned and executed flawlessly. Amy worked with us to bring our wishes and desires to life not only through her own creative mind, but by bringing us some of the best suppliers to form what we can only say is the "Dream Team". One of Amy's amazing characteristics is that she very rarely gets flustered, and boy did we push the limit here. She never loses her cool, and always delivers on any crazy asks.

Our 3 day celebration truly was like a fairytale. Every detail was thought out. Every design executed flawlessly.  Leaving England to head back to California we didn't just leave behind a wedding planner, we left behind friends. All our vendors, particularly Amy, have left such an impression on our lives that we can't wait to visit them all again soon!

THE STORY

Guests reveled in the beautiful secret garden setting, transformed for an alfresco champagne celebration. Sumptuous lounge furniture & a panelled bar created space for guests to gather, whilst escort cards were tied with lilac tibbons in a rose-covered dome, drawing guests further into the garden, encouraging, mingling and exploration of the beautiful setting.

Set within the Fig House their tablescape evoked a sense of understated elegance, as tradition is fused with a little modern drama. Beautifully draped chalk linen cascaded across tables, layered with intricately detailed crockery that injects a contemporary twist on Georgian dining. The foundation of the table, drew upon tones of Yorkshire stone, soft barely there neutrals, layered with whites, using texture to add a sense of opulence with fluted glassware & embroidered napkins. Tonal vellum menus were delicately placed. Finally florals in violets & apricots lined the centre of tables in bud vases, reflecting a tumbling floral installation above, delicately drawing together the palette.

The marquee brought all the drama, with added draping and statement lighting, to create a party atmosphere as a gold mirrored dancefloor created a key focal point, reflecting the incredible florals suspended above and adding a luxury edge. Pockets of plush furniture create s jazz club vibe with ambient, lamps, rugs and candlelight. Drag Queens and fireworks providing the ultimate surprise before guests were lead to a secret basement afterparty to dance the night away until the early hours.

Nestled in the picturesque North Yorkshire Countryside, set within rolling farmland, and with beautifully curated gardens, the enchanting Middleton Lodge became home for the weekend, as the Georgian estate created the foundation for three days of celebration. Throughout the weekend guests journeyed through the venue as we maximized every space, from a welcome reception in the historic manor house, to a relaxed rehearsal dinner at the Coach House, a secret walled garden ceremony encircled by florals, late night partying in the marquee and a recovery brunch pool side at The Forge.

Claire & Eleni’s design concept was founded on a vision of a Yorkshire sunset, the sun setting across rolling farmland on a balmy summers evening, the sky alive with purples, oranges, pinks, soft whites, set against the varying greens of the surrounding landscape. The summer gardens alive, a treat for the senses, with abundant herbaceous borders, billowing fragrant florals and trailing garden roses, a celebration of the English country garden. Florals throughout gathered the texture of the gardens, a celebration of the surrounding landscape, whilst continuing the sense of the secret garden throughout the wedding experience.

For their wedding ceremony Family & friends filled the rows of wooden cane back chairs as they gathered with anticipation, arranged in a gentle curve to create a sense of intimacy, the aisle lined with organic meadow florals as a Bridgerton style string quartet serenaded guests with their favourite classical covers. A billowing, untamed floor based display, encircled the place where vows were shared, creating a focal point on the lawn for an alfresco ceremony, whilst enabling guests to marvel at the beautiful manor house beyond.
